Port School Kitchen And Dining Extension

Port School in Hamilton Hill is an independent school that aims to engage ‘at risk’ students in years 8-12 who, for a variety of reasons and circumstances, have not been able to achieve success in Mainstream School settings. Port School awarded this project to Construct360 in late 2020. The project consisted of refurbishment works to the Toilet blocks that were outdated, a new 2nd storey commercial kitchen with an external lift and a conversion of the old ground floor kitchen into a dining area. The new kitchen offers cooking, barista and hospitality training as well as feeding the school staff and students on a daily basis. The new state of the art facilities also allows the school to cater for functions throughout the year. The students can now partake in the study of VET programmes onsite such as Certificate II in Hospitality and Barista’s course. The official opening of the facility November 2021 was attended by the State Premier, Mark McGowan and other notable distinguished guests. The school now has a fantastic new Commercial kitchen and dining extension which enables extraordinary hospitality training for its students that ensures they are ready to join Perth’s hospitality industry in their future career paths. This project reached the end of the defect Liability period with ZERO defects. 2022 WINNER FOR BEST EDUCATION BUILDING AWARD UNDER $1.5m AT THE MBA WA CONSTRUCTION EXCELLENCE AWARDS.
